Some buses that were registered were painted in SBST base livery when LTA took over these buses and assigned them to other operators(e.g. SMRT, GAS) and as they push to deploy these resources in revenue service, sometimes they lack the time to repaint the buses into Lush Green, resulting in what the community calls "Rojak Buses", which are essentially non-SBST buses painted in SBST's coporate livery. One example can be seen below, on SG5573T, on SMRT Svc
67
:On 8 September, this very bus made an appearance on
180
, a route which shares KJDEP with 67
:Their days are numbered, however, as LTA pushes the PTOs to adopt the standard Lush Green livery on all buses that it owns and gradually, more and more buses are being painted into Lush Green, with fewer and fewer "Rojaks" appearing on the roads. Although Rojak Citaros are easy to spot if one knows where to look for them(Woodlands Interchange or Changi Airport, both places served by 858s which utilize many Citaros, some of which are Rojaks, see below), SG5573T is currently the only Rojak B9TL left as a homage to the Rojak livery, all other Rojak B9TLs having being painted into the Lush Green livery that is standard of BCM buses.
As it is unknown if LTA or SMRT will push to repaint this last Rojak Bus into the standard Lush Green or if they will start pushing for the Rojak Citaros to be repainted into Lush Green, as some of them have already been done(Lush Green Citaros being spotted on 858 as of 26/8), if one were to see any in service, especially SG5573T on 67 or other services, one should snap as many photos as they can on the buses before they are repainted, rendering them into the pages of bus history....
