Blast from the Past: SVC 25 on Volvo B10TL(Super Olympian) - SBS9844Z

Right after my journey on SG5999Z(see my post 'SVC 7 on SG5999Z) I received information that a Volvo B10TL(Otherwise known as 'Super Olympian') would be operating on a 25 bound for AMK. Thus, after having a dinner, I went down to Bedok Station Exit A(BS 84039) to hunt it down. Not long after, the preceding 25, a B9TL WEG2, passed and my bus app indicated that the next bus was a non-WAB, which can only be the VSO. Indeed, 10mins later, SBS9844Z pulled into the bus stop and by luck, I managed to claim the front right seat on the uper deck. And so, not wanting to waste this opportunity, I started recording a short section of the ride and it went on for 3 bus stops, the main purpose being to record the nostalgic sound of the engine. On this trip, the bus was initially not very packed, but as many people started to board at the Hougang area, eventually even the upper deck filled up and there was not much space on the lower deck too. Luckily, this did not last; nearing AMK Interchange the bus started to empty gradually and by the time it pulled into AMK, the situation was roughly the same as when I boarded it at Bedok.

What made this hunt so special was the fact that it was literally 'From New to Old', after hopping down from one of Singapore's newest buses(SG5999Z, the MAN Lion's City DD L 3 Door concept Bus) to experiencing one of Singapore's oldest existing buses, the Super Olympian and it allowed me to see how much the bus system has evolved in Singapore, from the past when the VSOs were introduced to the present BCM and to the future with the 3 door bus. Special thanks to the Site Admin, he provided me with the info on when the VSO would depart, and normally I wouldnt do this sort of hunting, but he gave me the opportunity to  As usual, I will post photos of this bus as soon as I get the opportunity, and for those who want to catch the B10TL in action, I would suggest them to try on routes departing from the east for reasons as stated in my earlier post "B10BLEs in the West, B10TLs in the East?"
