It seems that this is the only SMRT B9TL left that still bears the base SBS Transit livery. And this is true for quite some time already. Could it be that the painters do not want to prepare the painting equipment for the double deck, just for a single bus? This makes some sense, because the cost of preparing to paint a single bus might not be justified. The case of painting hundreds of buses is completely different.

maybe SMRT leave this bus alone for the time being for bus enthusiasts to enjoy the livery. As seen in the past, SMRT do show some care for bus fans as it used to host the last bus journey for the last bus model before it retired. And at the old temp Yishun Int, SMRT took effort to display the last bus timing for s859; the last SMRT bus to leave the interchange.

Painting is borned by LTA not the operator..SMRT also have number of SBST livery Citaros
